Our Ultimate Gift
Christ Mass is on us and most people are making ready for the gift giving celebration. Many will say that they are giving gifts in celebration of the birth of Jesus. Some will be giving a gift because it’s the common practice. Others will be giving a gift because they expect to get one back. Some may just be trying to appease someone. Christmas gifts will bring some together, separate some and bind some. Some will be in debt and not be able to pay. Some will be so adversely affected that they will not recover; but the beat goes on. Political correctness will not allow some to use the word Christmas or the words Christ Mass, but they will be celebrating the holidays with full participation. Yes some will indulge even to the point of been in a drunken stupor.
When we consider that the birth of Christ signified the arrival of the Ultimate gift to mankind, we should well consider giving our Ultimate Gift in return; giving ourselves wholly unto the Lord. We should be ever so careful to put away all malice, anger, wrath, hate, deceit and lying. Instead we would be ever so careful to be loving, kind, humble, meek, longsuffering, merciful, compassionate and forgiving; striving to be at peace with everyone and be thankful always. Presenting our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service. For this I know for sure. There is someone, somewhere, out there, in need of our ultimate gift.
