The Lord Our God is Jealous

"The Lord Our God is Jealous"

The Lord Our God is most jealous; of our love. He who chose you; O Believer; will not even consider the possibility that you should choose another to share or receive your love. He who bought you with His own blood cannot endure such a thought, that you should think that you are your own, or that you belong to someone else or to this world. He loved you with an everlasting love that He would not remain in heaven without you; He would sooner die than that you should perish. He would not accept that anything should stand between your heart's love and Himself. He is very jealous of your trust. He will not permit you to trust in the arms of flesh. Said He: “I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ” (2Corinthians 11: 2). God cannot bear that you should drink out of broken cisterns, when the overflowing fountain of living water is always free to you. To lean on His everlasting arm makes His heart merry. To put your trust in any other or anything else; to depend on mans wisdom and the wisdom of this world is to makes the Lord angry. Such conduct will incur His wrath and you will be beaten with many stripes; that He may bring you to Himself. The Lord Our God is jealous and the Lord revenges. The Lord revenges and is furious; He will take vengeance on his adversaries and he reserves wrath for his enemies (Nahum 1:2). The Lord wants us to keep and maintain a very close relationship with Him; as a best friend, brother, husband and wife, master and servant, confidant, helper, provider, father and son and creator. There should be no one with whom we converse as much as we do with the Lord. We must be careful not to worship anyone or anything else; even as He warns us in Exodus 20:4-6: “You shall not make unto you any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments”. To abide in Him only is to love Him with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. God does not want us to seek the comfort of anyone, even our fellow Christians, Pastors, wives, husbands or any other source. Instead He wants us to find solace in the divine comfort of the Holy Spirit, through Jesus Christ alone. You shall worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. Many of the trials which He sends on us are for the purpose of weaning our hearts from the creature to the creator, fixing our hearts on Himself that we may know how to abide in Him, having secret intercourse with Him as we maintain and enjoy constant fellowship with Him; for the Lord our God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God. He is our righteousness and we should always be hungry and thirsty for Him; knowing that:Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6). He assures us in Revelation 21:6;I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the Water Of Life freely”. He who purchased you with His own blood will keep you in perfect peace; because it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. So: seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Know for sure that: THE LORD OUR GOD IS JEALOUS.

Grace be unto you and peace, from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Love you. Be blessed.
