LOOK UNTO ME

Since the day the serpent beguiled Eve and both she and her husband switch their focus from their Creator to themselves; looking what they could possible achieve by eating the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil; mankind has had great difficulty switching the focus back to God. It has been much easier to look to each other and to everything in the natural for all that we ever wanted or need. We think not that God who is the creator and owner of everything is able to supply all things for all. We credit ourselves for everything, ascribing great power to each other, giving much glory and honor to finite man even as we sidestep God’s infinite Sovereignty. There is no shortage of praise to lavish on each other especially those whom we know or believe have had some accomplishments. God is often the last to whom we look and for many, He is the only one to whom they never look. We are often not thankful for what God has done and for the hope that he has given us. When we stop for a moment and consider: that there are many who are in need and must do without the very basic things; the many who have in abundance but are still hungry; even having the prepared meal but can’t eat it, who are dying in their abundance; we see the children of men suffering greatly because they have left God out of the equation. All these things happen to us because we have not come to the full understanding that God is who he said He is; able, faithful and true. That we should do as he has commanded us, because he and he alone is able to supply all our needs. Many suffer from a lack of knowledge and understanding of the Holy; just really not knowing who God is. The Lord who created the heavens; God who formed the earth’ made it and established it. He created it not in vain, but he formed it to be inhabited.  He spoke that we should hear, trust and obey; saying: “I am the Lord; and there is none else. I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, seek ye me in vain: I the Lord speak righteousness. I declare things that are right (Isaiah 45:18-19). LOOK UNTO ME, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear” (Isaiah 45:22-23). God is not a man that he should lie; neither the son of man that he should repent: has he said, and shall he not do it? Has he spoken, and shall he not make it good? (Numbers 23: 19). My son: keep my words and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart (Proverbs 7:1-3) The Lord speaking through the prophet Jeremiah said: “I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee” (Jeremiah 31:3). Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins, having provided all for the people he loves. May we learn to love him and look unto him always knowing that he first loved us. LOOK UNTO ME, and be ye saved: command’s the Lord our God.  Look unto God today and be blessed. God has guaranteed it, he has sworn by Himself; and will perform it. Love you with that everlasting love. Be blessed.
